New Moon Rising Artist

Twelve-year-old Violet has always had an affinity for art. She enjoys creating and drawing characters based on her environment and emotions. She often uses alcohol markers and colored pencils to create her whimsical characters. Violet is mostly self-taught but has recently taken summer courses at the Southwest School of Art at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She hopes to pursue art as a career. When not drawing, Violet enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and pets. Born in San Antonio, Texas, she currently resides in Rockport.

Join us for Violet’s reception on February 10th from 4-6pm!

We gaze at a new moon, awed by the promise and possibility it ushers into our lives. So has it been for ages before us, and so it will be for our children and their children. Moon Over Water wants to provide a space to foster a passion for art among our younger generations and therefore has introduced our “New Moon Rising Artists”. Each quarter, we will showcase a young artist and host a reception to celebrate them. Meet our current New Moon Artist!
