Danya DeLeon

Danya DeLeon is a Rockport and Native Texan silversmith jewelry artist. She began metal work in 2016 when she was introduced to a local artist who taught her foundational skills. She fell in love with the craft.

Danya considers herself a student always as she pursues knowledge through her journey in silversmithing. She finds inspiration in the natural world around her by using raw and/ natural stones, fossils, shells, and other natural materials. She mainly works in silver but also loves working with copper, brass and bronze. She has an affinity for adding decorative texture and contrast through forming, and reticulation. Reticulation is a process in metalwork that basically uses heat to create a new surface on the metal.  Danya utilizes her intuition, allowing the metal and material to dictate their final forms. She really enjoys creating one-of-a-kind intentional pieces of art jewelry that inspire and speak to individuals as special as we all are. In her quest she hopes to create unique and timeless jewelry that can be passed down for generations to come.

As a Silversmith jeweler she is honored to share the craft with others like it has been shared with her. She believes we are all meant to create Art. She loves encouraging others to find their own artistic voices. Danya is grateful to have found this work and beyond joyful to share her art.
