Moon Musings - August

“August is the slow, gentle month that stretches out the longest across the span of a year. It yawns and lingers on with the light in its palms.” — Victoria Erickson

August is upon us, and we are reflecting on Moon Over Water Gallery’s very first summer. We have exciting plans in place for fall, including our first birthday celebration in October, but August is a time for reflection on what has been, what is, and what may come.  The way you have all embraced the gallery warms our hearts and fills us with a gratitude that is nearly too deep to articulate. We say sincerely and truly—thank you. Art connects us.  So, even as August lingers and yawns, let’s connect through art at Moon Over Water!

MOW Artists’ Dream Projects

We asked a few of our artists what their dream project to work on would be and were so impressed by their creativity!

Diana Casabar – A beautiful teapot

Mary Carole Sitzes - Well, there is this dead tree in our backyard that I have been looking at turning into a sculpture! All of its branches are gone, and its trunk is a curve that could support something hanging down—like a large mobile.

Karen Krumm - I would like to go to each state park and complete a painting. Then hit all the national parks.

Kimmi Moake - Collaboration on a public piece with other artists.

Janice Clark - When I first started making jewelry, my dream was to be able to afford and work with beautiful black Tahitian pearls and then later gold South Sea pearls. I have just reached that goal and love working with and making pieces with them.

Elizabeth Jones – A wall-sized mural!
