Turning of the Tides

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together is success.
— Henry Ford

For those of you who haven’t heard, the tides have turned at Moon Over Water Gallery. Life took our amazing founders, Sharen Chatterton and Karen Rester, on a path away from Rockport and the magical gallery and market they created. The artists who had been with them since the beginning put their heads and hearts together to figure out the future. Two new owners were born from this process. (Yes, that is what it indeed felt like.)

Danya De Leon and Kimmi Norvell Moake have been a part of Moon Over Water Gallery and Artisan Market since its rise in 2023. Danya, a silversmith, and Kimmi working with mixed media and watercolor. They have been friends for almost 15 years and met while owning businesses under the same roof, just right down Austin Street! They are honored now carry the torch of such a wonderful place, chock full of beautiful art. Kimmi and Danya strive to run the gallery with all the love and care its founders did and are grateful for this opportunity to be partners. Sharen and Karen continue to hold their hearts more than their hands, but Kimmi and Danya are honored to carry their legacy and, of course, still be an outlet for offering their creative works to South Texas.

From Kimmi and Danya, “ we would like to thank our artists. If it weren’t for you, we would not have this opportunity. And next, of course, our customers. We are grateful for every penny you spend, but more than anything, the energetic exchange upon each grace of our threshold. Thank you for all your support and patience during our transition”.

They have made a few changes and have added quite a few more artists, so please visit to see the new version of Moon Over Water Gallery & Artisan Market. More updates coming soon!
